You’ve all seen it. You’re stopped at a light and the car in front of you backs up a bit to get back behind the limit line. Presuming they don’t hit you then, you’ve escaped one event. However, how many times have you seen the backer sit with his foot on the brake and his backup lights still on. You can take it to the bank; he’s going to hit the gas and back into you. Chances are you’re not going to get his attention so it’s time to split the lane. This is one of the incidences where you have no choice. Get out from behind this guy. This is yet another reason why you must stop with sufficient space to maneuver right or left.
